Western States Cobra Bash 2007 – Main Thread

Mark your calendars for the 3rd Annual Western States Cobra Bash May 17-20, 2007 in Sparks-Reno Nevada at the John Ascuaga's Nugget resort and casino. WSCB is a fun gathering of owners of replica and original Cobras, Daytona Coupes, GT40s, and Specialty Vendors. SORRY, No late registrations will be accepted this year. Be sure to register now before spots run out if you are definitely planning to attend. Once we are full, we are full, and that will be it. There are a few new twists in the mix for ’07. Please note, the Reno Historics / HMSA vintage race cars and plane show have been moved to the same weekend as WSCB ’07 in a collaborative effort with Reno Fernley Raceway to make this an even more exciting and interesting weekend for vintage race car and plane buffs. It all sort of came together nicely. Your WSCB ’07 Attendee ID Badge gets you into the Reno Historics and the Air Plane show all weekend as well.

The basic plan starts with early arrivals on Thursday after 3pm, the WSCB Track Day on Friday at RFR, followed by the Social Gathering at the Nugget Friday night, the group photo shoot followed by the 100-mile Drive on Saturday morning, the now extended Victorian Square WSCB public showing Saturday afternoon through the evening, and the official Reno Historics vintage car races and plane show on Sunday for anyone who can stay and check it out.

Early registration opened November 1st 2006 at the request of returning attendees wanting to lock it in on their calendars. Limit is firmly set at 200 cars and 15 specialty vendors for WSCB registrations, and a limit of 60 cars for WSCB-RFR Track Day / Pro Control Driving Academy. See "Changes for 07" on the WSCB website for more information. Word is out now about WSCB and we are looking forward to another banner year in 2007. Make it a mini vacation with your spouse, family, and friends. Come and hang out and relax with us and enjoy these cool cars together. WSCB is a nice fun group of people

Note to Registered Attendees - feel free to reply here to this thread to let others know you’ve completed registration and you are attending WSCB in 2007.

Note to industry Specialty Vendors: – email us with inquiries, we already have a reserve list going…last year all spots were gone by Christmas Eve the previous year.

If our 3rd year of WSCB is anything like the first two years or better, this could turn out to be a really neat weekend to remember once again!

    Thank You.

    See Ya There! :D

    Shelby Club Forum Members -

FYI - We are running low on WSCB Track Day spots and registrations are going pretty quick - faster than anticipated at this point. It's not even December yet, over 6 months away; less than nine spots remain for Track Day and just under half of the attendee registrations are gone already. If you are a Shelby Forum member with a Cobra and want to attend WSCB AND Track Day, email us at wscb@comcast.net for updates or questions. Hope you can make it.

Reply here if you are attending as a Shelby Forum Member to let others on this forum know you are attending. Several CSX4000s and orginals already signed up.

    Thanks. DC

News Update: Notification to WSCB 2007 Attendees

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

UPDATE - The Historics Motor Sports Association (HMSA) decided to postpone their race car event at the Fernley Raceway on Saturday and Sunday, and will not be holding it on the same weekend as WSCB.

A this point it appears we'll be getting the entire track to ourselves on Friday, just like last year. We are working on seeing if a 4th rungroup can be added in place of the test/tune group HMSA was going to run. We'll have even more car/trailer parking at the hotel facility and more private track time now as a result. If you by chance have any questions, concerns, or issues with this change by HMSA not being there the same weekend as WSCB, please contact me with your questions or concerns before December 25th, 2006. So far, the response I've received from the few people that know about this already is they are cool with this and very much looking forward to WSCB regardless. I hope you all feel the same way.
