Export brace color

    Hi. I notice on some original 67 GT500 photos that the export brace looks more shiny than the rest of the engine bay. Could this have been painted a gloss black?

    Looks like a similar chassis black to me. Naturally, it was painted somewhere else, not at the Ford body line. No doubt they didn't care much if it didn't quite match. This is an early Shelby photo.

    They were dip painted which does leave a slightly shinier gloss then if sprayed with the same paint. Bob
