    Greetings,

I know that on the 64 1/2 Mustang they changed to a retention cable type cap before end of 64 1/2 production--so my question is: on a very early '65 GT-350 like SFM 5025 (the 4th Shelby shipped), what do you believe the car would have come with from San Jose? (San Jose build date was approximately Dec. 12, 1964.)

    Best regards,

    Neil

By December San Jose had been installing the "65" style gas cap for many months from what I've seen. "Very Early" Shelbys are just mid year Mustangs ;)

Jeff is absolutely right!!! I believe you'll find that the only differences in the early 65's would be what was available for Shelby to install on the cars to try and meet a deadline. ie SCCA production. As far as what Ford installed.. those 64.5 features were long past the manufacturing change. Hope that helps!!

What about the shift levers, early with sharp bend
    or later with smoother bend?
