Hello, Is anyone planning on attending the Shelby show at Ford World Headquarters a.k.a "The Glass House" in Dearborn on Sunday, June 4th? If you have any 65/66 fastback parts you would like to sell, I would be interested in them. My goal is not to make it look new, just a cleaned up old classic. Thanks. Rudy
I will be there. Anyone need exhust for a big block in a 68? From the manifolds to the rear valence. Super inexpensive and in great shape.
Hi, I'm looking for used 1965-66 Fastback parts: - Black dash pad. - Black carpeting. - Black "A" pillar vinyl covers. - Driver and passenger door windlace. - Steel tension rod and grommet that attaches to the rear deck lid - that acts as the spring. - Full set of screws for the Fastback interior trim. - Possibly a deck lid. - Shelby hood scoop. - Shelby striping. - Fiberglass front faring (replacing front bumper) - Glove box. - Instrument panel gauges. - Chrome for fold down reat seats. - Latch handle that slides fold-down rear seat lock. - Black front seat covers. - 14" 1966 slotted hub caps. And if you have anything else you want to bring along, I would be interested in checking out. Also, B.F. Goodrich 10'x3' blue vinyl banner with the same blue color 1966 Mustang Shelby GT350. Thanks.
Rudy (and all) I will be there on the 4th with one of my GT350s; either my unrestored lime gold 1968 or my restored sunlit gold 1968 Hertz. Rick
Hi, I hope to look you guys up when I get in. The interior is out of my car and I started sanding the crappy paint job on the dash. There appears to be (3) layers of paint. Originally red, then white and now black. I want to put a fresh coat of black on it. I'm using 220 grit sandpaper. There sure isn't much to show for 2 hours of effort. Any suggestions? I've already stripped, primered and painted all of my interior fiberboard wrap around panels and can't wait to put the interior back in. It has been idle longer than its been driven. Will there be a swap meet too? I hope so. How many cars typically show up? I remember years ago, when I lived in the Detroit area, a show at the Dearborn Inn and then in a parking lot at Ford. I think that was at Rotunda and Oakwood. Ahh, the gold old days. I'm heading back to my old stomping grounds (Wyandotte and Grosse Ile) on Friday to visit and stay with family and friends and head to Dearborn on Sunday morning. I haven't been home in over 3 years. Its a lot slower pace on the West side of the state. Anyway, look forward to meeting you good folks. Rudy
Rudy - Yes, there will be a swap-meet there, too - should be plenty of Mustang parts. The number of cars in the show should be in the range of 300-400, depending on Mother Nature. We are expecting some new Ford GT's and also some new Shelby GT500 cars to be on display - it ought to be a great day! regards, Jeff SAAC-MCR
Swapmeet setup starts about 7:00AM; Car Show setup from 8:30AM 'til Noon. Show opens to spectators at 9:00AM. There's also an Open Track Event (the "GO" part of Motor City Show & Go) at Waterford Hills on Monday. Jeff
Re: June 4th show at Ford World Headquarters Greetings! Its been a while since I was on line last - just prior to the show. After a visit with my family, I headed home and got to Dearborn early - about 7:30AM. Yes, I was anxious. It was raining, but that didn't dampen my excitement for being there. I had fun, visited with a lot of nice people with very nice cars. The folks from the Shelby Club Motor City Reigon who sponsored the show were also very nice and friendly. The swap meet was good, I bought a few items. The Shelby club was giving away some NOS posters of which I had never seen before. That was nice of them to do. Anyway, its too bad there's a 3 hour drive between where I live - near Holland and Dearborn/Detroit. Otherwise, I would join the club.
