I just bought a replacement 1970 GT500 shifter boot for the Hurst shifter. The car arrived with an aftermarket boot. The new boot has the slot for the lever offset to one side. Which side does the offset go towards??

The 70 Shelby did not come from the factory with a Hurst shifter. A 70 Shelby is a left over 69 model so it came with a factory with a Ford shifter. The Hurst shifter is one of the first mods people do to a stock 4 speed Mustang or Shelby. In 1970 a Mustang with a 4 speed came from the factory with a Hurst shifter.
