Does anyone have the correct dimensions for the reinforcement plates (4 of them) that are welded beneath the interior override traction bar brackets. The corners of the aft plates are trimmed to clear (what I'm going to call) the hand brake cable tunnels. or at least a good clear aerial (downward) photo? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Earl
Sorry for the poor quality - Bottom picture is from a 65 carry over and appears that the mount is smaller than the earlier car (in the #400's)
Here is a picture from my 65. As you can see somebody, probably an earlier owner has welded an extra reenforcement bar on the front side to make it stronger. Texas Swede
TS you bring up a good point (or possibility) the upper two pictures are from a car in the 400's that had a few additions to it at one point (panard bar and such welded in) the bases could have been modified like your example
Hi Guys Please some dimensions this is getting interesting for me too! Here i just built the brackets for the snubbers what do you say to this?? With is a bit more than 2" (55mm) and 45mm in hight. The snubber is modified from a newer german car. What do you say?????? @Earl Sorry for using your thread maybe it is interesting for you too i thought. Bye Jerry
First thing that I notice about the bumpers is the fact that the ones you posted come to a point where the originals had flat ends approx 1 1/4" across Also the body as more consistantly tapered
Hi Snakepit I saw that too that the original is flat. I´ll cut mine to fit. The bracket you should think is smaller? Do you have numbers?? Thanks Jerry
Jeff, Thanks for the photos. I can make it out well enough. Jerry, not a problem, Jim Cowles at Shelby Part & Rest. has the bumpers stops for $45.00 USD. Texas Swede, ? I was looking for original reinforcement photos, but thank you anyway. Too far forward for any panhard rod hardware?? possibly ties to aftermarket sub frame connectors otherwise it's just connected to floor sheet metal can't really say with out additional pics. ~Earl
