1969 GT 500 Ram Air Hood Seal

I need to replace the round rubber seal on my 69 GT500 hood and was wondering if anyone knows what type of glue I should use to affix it to the hood, the existing one was installed by the painter and it keeps coming off after the car gets warm, and now is torn. The part isn't easy to find and it's not cheap so I don't want to have to replace it again. thanks for any help
