Were the 1967 mustang data plates removed by shelby american during assembly? Not sure if I'm using proper terminology in calling it a "data plate", but what I'm referring to is the stamped metal tag which was located on the rear driver's side apron panel. It was screwed into the top side at the front side of the hood hinge attach point screwed into the panel with an flat head interior bracket screw (in the example I saw). The reason I'm asking is because I'm not finding one in all my "stuff" removed for painting, and I'd like to know if I've lost it or if I can stop looking.

It sounds like you are confusing your years. 1967 Shelbys were built in San Jose. I dont think the San Jose Shelbys have data plates.
