    Coralsnake,

The package number should be in the CUSTOMER block and look something like this: Shelby American (400F Pkg).

"CUSTOMER" block has Shelby American only.

    Coralsnake,

Just to be clear, this information is for 84-2576 and not 84-2574, 33 G.T.350s with Automatic Transmissions, with A/C, and without smog? Correct? Thanks.

The information I posted was for 84-2574. The package number is 211F. That matches your chart for auto/ac/no thermactor (I missed that the first time). I'm guessing that also becomes part of the VIN?

I don't have any info on the other DSO [2576] That was Snakepits post # 19:noway:

Also, the totals on the chart need to be updated

    1) 84-2528 – XL428 reports the package as 402F(G.T.500, 4-spd, no A/C, w/Thremactor, would you verify that the copy you have lists a 400F package?

As mentioned this Add/Delete sheet is formated slightly different from the later ones and does not include that information there.

Yes 428-4 spd wo/AC or Thermactor

    2) 84-2576 – Is this the same order for 33 units as 2574 as reported by Coralsnake? Is this a typo in the order number? Was this order for G.T.350s or G.T.500s?

Yes typo (sorry - lots of keys and only a couple of fingers

    GT350's

    3) 84-2602 – Total number of colors adds up to 15 not 13 as stated on 8/4/2007. Which is correct? Or could this be an error on the DSO sheet?

    3I+3M+2Q+2T+3D = 13

    Sorry

    4) Could you post the schedule dates from your sheets?

Hopefully they were better guessing at these dates that Ford was (often off by up to three weeks ;)

    84-2528 ..... 12-5
    84-2549 ..... 1-9
    84-2555 ..... 1-16
    84-2574 ..... 2-6
84-2596 ..... 4-19 (Form very different from others)
    84-2602 ..... 5-5
84-2613 ..... Can not make it out from the copy I have

Did find a page from 84-2632 Only general information it offers is that it was a group of maybe 13 cars (difficult to read)

Since its related... its not off thread

When you get caught up with this you will notice the references in the text to earlier specifications and letters. To save some time here are the ones that I noticed.

    67 Shelby Add/Delete Sheets

    First 67 Production Add/Delete sheet – 71-2501 (GT500) date 9-8-66

This sheet laid out much of the basic stuff used to build the early cars though later in production Ford revertered to 71-2505 (GT350) established on 8-22-66

Additional specifications were identified in a letter on 9-8-66 Reference number 67Z885 (subjects are what I deducted by the other notes and subject they were connected to on the sheets)
    ________________________________________________

71-2501 - dated 9-8-66 (GT500 base pkg, gas cap, shoulder harness, tires, wheels, 4 speeds & suspension)

71-2505 - dated 8-22-66 (GT350 base pkg, gas cap, shoulder harness, tires, wheels, dual exhaust system & suspension)

    71-2506 - dated 8-22-66 or 9-7-66 (GT350 automatic trans specs & a change in suspension for AC cars ?)

    71-2509 – dated 8-22-66 (GT350 engine specifications)

    84-2528 - 10-28-66 (Deleting trim components)

84-2583 - dated 3-9-67 (GT5350 thermactor, PS and AC issues)

    84-2583 - dated 8-22-66

Engineering Letters – later referred to as S.P.C.E. (Special Performance Comp Engineering or PEPSE Letters

    67Z882 - dated 9-8-66 (Instrument cluster)
    67Z882 - dated 8-22-66 (Instrument cluster & automatic transmissions – GT350?)
    67Z883 - dated 9-7-66 (GT350 Power steering with AC issues/specs)
67Z885 - dated 9-8-66 (Special disc brake pkg for GT500)
    67Z885-6 - dated 9-8-66 (Axle specifications ?)
    67Z886 - dated 9-8-66 (Special disc brake pkg & C4 automatic specifications for GT350)
    67Z887 - dated 9-8-66 (GT500 power steering spec/issues)

    Hope this helps a bit

    Snakepit,

Thanks for all the updates. Could you post the color breakdown for 84-2596? It was not listed in your August 9 post with the rest of the colors. Thanks.

Your other information was informative. I'm hoping that this will all come together to produce a clearer picture of how these cars were built.

Hmmm must have over looked it when trying to posting all them at once earlier:blush:

    7...........I
    7...........K
    7...........M
    8...........Y
    4...........Q
    6...........T
    6...........D

Not sure if there is any great new info, they appear pretty consistent - unlike the 65 orders for example, but we will see

    Coralsnake,

I think the package number did become part of the VIN.

    Snakepit,

Are the paint part numbers listed on 84-2596 for "T" and "D"? I don't have them. (Details, details.) Thanks.

WOW, I think one of these DSO's may include my car. It is an Auto/AC car. Important Dates for my car below.

Dave Mathews told me it was 1 of 10 Wimbleton White 67 GT500's made with Auto and AC:

    -Order Received 3/10/67
    -Car Seriallized 4/12/67
    -Scheduled for Build 4/27/67
    -Actually Built 5/16/67
    -Released 5/16/67
    -Completed 7/5/67
    -Shipping Date 7/11/67

    Guys,

I've got the spreadsheet posted on my website. The link is: http://www.s-techent.com/DSO1967.htm. Follow the link on that page to directly email the data to me. Of course you can all ways post it to this thread and I'll pick it up from there. I'll update the spreadsheet whenever I receive additional data. Take a look at what I have posted and feel free to send me corrections.

Is there a way to determine if a particular car was part of a specific DSO?

The 5/1/67 sheet included 3 AC/Auto cars that were Wimbleton White. Only 10 were ever made. My cars build date was 5/16/67.

I was wondering if my car was one of those three? I guess I have a 30% shot.

    Any Input?

    Mike

    Mike,

If you have a Marti Report, check the Warranty Plate D.S.O. number for a match. Do you have a copy of the Production Order from SAAC? There is also another number on that one that could be a match. I'm curious too as to whether there is a way to track a car to a particular D.S.O. Let us know what you find out. Thanks.

Looks like we've collected all the sheets that forum members have to offer. Are there any suggestions as to other forums to continue the search on? Thanks. I'm also contacting Dave Mathews regarding this thread to see if he can add anything.

Fellas, Excuse my ignorance, still learning after 2 years about DSO's etc..

I think I have a copy of a missing one or one I do not see listed. It accounts for 121 Shelby's The prior owner was document hound. I think I have a copy of DSO # 89-2609.

    I have something that says:

"Special Vehicle Order and Parts Specifications" on the top of the page.

In the upper left hand corner it says:

    Automotive ASSY. Division
    Ford Motor Company

    "To Production Control Manager
    San Jose, California

    Date: 5-3-67

    "SPO or DSO 89-2609"

Decent Date 4-26 Cent. Date 4-20 Sched Date 5-5

    No Unit 121

    Paint as Follows:

No of Units Code Description Color

    28 I Lime Gold
    24 K Night Mist Blue
    20 Q Brittany Blue
    24 Y Dark Moss Green
    24 M Wimbledon White
    1 X Vintage Burgundy

I guess this is the DSO for one "Special Paint" 67 Burgundy, correct? Wast' there only 1???

On my Marti Report is says:

    DSO Item Number 2501

The DSO has all items installed and Deleted. I guess it is for my car only????, it is 6 pages long. And refers to "2501" which is the number on the Marti Report.

This thing was buried in Paper Work for my car that since we moved a year ago I had not looked at.

    Mike,

Try to get a copy of the Shelby Production order from SAAC. Mine had a number on it that seemed to match a D.S.O. of a car that is three VINs from mine. If it is available, I think it would cost you about $10. Well worth it in my opinion. You can see a copy of it at http://www.s-techent.com/Photos67.htm.

Yep, I have that form too. It has my serial number #2532 and a 2501 below that too.

    Mike,

I don't know about the special order paint but it looks like you do have a copy of one of the D.S.O. sheets.

Could you take a look at it and extract some additional information? The package number should be in the CUSTOMER block and look something like this: Shelby American (411F Pkg). This will tell us if those cars were G.T.350s or 500s, which transmissions were installed and if they were built with air conditioning or Thermactor controls. From your previous description, the number should be 411F. You should also find an interior trim block that will list the interior color as black or parchment. Thanks for your help in chasing this information down. I'll incorporate your information in the spreadsheet and have it posted sometime this evening on my website.

Interesting. Does your Marti Report list the number 2603 anywhere (maybe just after the date) on the Vehicle Order Image or on the Warranty Plate?

    Mike,

Yup, it helps. I'll look at the picture tonight, I access it where I am right now as the website is on the forbidden list. Thanks.
