68 Shelby 4-speed console resto HELP

Anyone here know on a 68 Shelby 4-speed car if the small gold plate with the shift pattern was applied to all 68 4-speed shelby's some or none? I do not recall on either of the 4 speed consoles I owned and seems very few pictures of cars with units installed out on the web. Restoring one now and have the gold plate, determine if it should be applied and if so where exactly was it placed on the console behind shifter.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
