Bob... I am the current owner of 6s1138. I bought this car from Fast Lane in St Charles in 98 so this car hadnt strayed very far (2 owner). The origninal owner, Ted Davis, bought it in march 66 at Riesmeyer from salesman Hal Lewis. From what I understand the Riesmeyer dealership was razed because of road realignment on highway 66, now Watson road and was located near the current Crestwood Plaza. I have been looking for a Riesmeyer license plate frame without any luck, You wouldnt happen to have one I could talk you out of ? Davis kept all the original papers for this car including the green colored cardboard lot key tag marked Riesmeyer motors and 6s1138 penned on flip side. Had 18000 miles on it in 98.

Bob, you should contact the SAAC 1965-66 registrar with your info. He may be able to put you together with the current owner of your old GT350. And I feel certain he’d be interested any info you have about early Shelbys – particularly considering the position you held at Reismeyer Ford. Please contact Howard Pardee at email address: 65-66registrar@saac.com.

    Great background and opportunities

As for the "only" 66 red supercharged car - maybe at the time of order, a friend (original owner) has one that was originally sold in Calif
