I ran across a for sale ad in San Diego, CA with a guy who is trying to sell a '65 Fastback as a "67 cobra hatchback" and he sent me a pic of the Shelby VIN tag. He insists that he has a '67 and I'm not going to waste my time with the guy but this looks like the original Shelby VIN tag for car #363. Don't know how he got a hold of it.

I also attached a pic of the car he's pictured with the ad so you can see how stupid some of the people in CA are. The brain cells diminish as they get closer to our southern border.

Last owner as of 2011 Registry shows Joe Colangelo of Carrollton, TX and undergoing a restoration. Unless it went really, really bad, I don't think the car ended up like the pic above, lol.

That tag is repo and all wrong. It is also on a modified 1965-66 Mustang fastback with after market side scoops, partial GT350 stripe, Mustang hub caps, etc. Certainly not anything close to a '67 GT500 and he couls be in trouble with a bogus VIB plate, especially if that is the VIV used to register the car.
