Vin Decoding

    Hi trying to decode a vin number on a 1966 Shelby GT350 and cant find a sight that will allow me to do this/ Any ideas? You can email me directly at neirynck2be@yahoo.com Thank you!

    Not much to decode on the Shelby #. Example 6S000 would be 66, street #000
    Ford # would be 6R02Kxxxxxx for 66 San Jose fastback 289 HP sequential #
    Now if you are asking how the two are related you won't find that info :whistle:

    That doesnt make ANY sense my first 2 number are 6 then S i get that but the other four are not what you stated.

    6S01234 would be 1966 street model. The 1,234th car built by Shelby American.

    Or do you mean it did not make any sense that they didn't put more information in the serial number?

    It does make sense, I think we are not on the same page.
    Are you looking at the Shelby VIN (tag under hood) or Ford VIN (number stamped on apron)?

    Just tell us what numbers you are looking at and where they are located. The people here are more knowledgeable than any decoder. Most of those are set up for regular fords, not shelbys. You are talking to people that are nationally known as knowledgeable experts.
