Does anyone know of a good Shelby appraisal located around the gulf coast?
I have a 1968 GT500KR that is under restoration and I know some parts are not original. I would like to get more insight before I continue as I will soon began the rust repair. Thanks so much for any help and or advice.

Here is some light reading for you. I am not a big fan of appraisals, but to each his own. Most appraisers dont know squat about Shelbys. I know thats going to rub some people the wrong way, but save your money and get with some knowledgeable people to help you.

Certainly, there are many reputable and knowledge appraisal services. However, it is very hard to be knowledgable on all cars. Will someone who appraises Rolls Royce automobiles, know if a starter delay is missing from a GT500KR? The unfortunate part of an appraisal is, that if you know the right people, you can get one for just about any value. Do not take an appraisal at face value. You have the responsibilty to be the knowledgable person. Just because a car has a high appraisal value, doesn't mean someone will pay that much.

+1 pay the money and get someone that knows 68 shelbys. As pete mentioned a small part can set you back $1500

Thanks for the replies. I agree with both of you. I'm not looking for just a classic car appraisal rather someone that deals with 68 shelby's in particular. The appraisal itself I'm not too concern with just really looking for someone that can answer a list of questions. Thanks again.

I have a friend that is a 68 Shelby expert that lives pretty close to the Gulf Coast and may do an appraisal for you. Send me an email and I will give you his contact information.
