As far as value or quality of build and such.

    Regards.

    Dan.

what year?????ive got a fairly early 67(557)and i had a freind with a very late one..Fit and finish seemed way better on his....Of course early cars (especially super early ones)had some cool additional features..i.e. exhaust valence chrome trim, functional brake scoops.. and on really early cars different grill and trim and air extractor lights....however i think it really depends on what the buyer wants...When ford and ao smith took over for shelby american in 68 i believe the cars became much more consistent through the model year(s)...Trent

What 557 is pretty true. By the way, I own 67 GT350 #0036. All those early features.
But, to answer your question, if it isn't #0001, it doesn't matter.

    Hello Rod,

Since #0001 was a GT350, did you mean to say #0100 which was the first GT500 to receive a Shelby production serial number? Just curious..........

    Thanks,
    Eric

Let me rephrase that: the first of either Gt 350 or GT 500 matters, otherwise, it better be some substantial "thing"....like an engineering car...........race car, known famous owner or user.

Not if your talking about a Ford GT500! Doesn't mean a thing now or into the future. Say a truely limited addition or a prototype but not in the GT's case.

    Cheers

Another point to consider is that all the vintage ones are stupid valuable now(many times that of a standard mustang of similar age)so its all kind of relative i think....

So, you are suggesting that any 67 Gt 500 is of the same value as:
    the first 67 GT 500?
    Jim Morrison's 67GT 500? ( I know, it's gone)
    the Super Snake Gt 500?
Either of the two 67 Gt 500 Drag cars?????
The 0ne of one 67 GT 500 Convertible?
The one of one 67 GT 500 coupe, 'lil Red??

    Somehow, I don't think so

yeah well 100k for any 1967 mustang(and not that great of one for that matter)seems pretty stupid/ridiculous/insane etc. (pick your word)to me...i own one myself but quite honestly i would be much happier if people werent speculating financially on them as much as they are...I NEVER EVER intend to sell mine and it makes the driving experience one hell of a lot less pleasant when i have to worry about people knowing what the car and attendant parts are worth.........

:wacko:Hate to spring this on you but this particular forum is for 07-11 GT500's. Don't think we're talking about a 67 GT500. Look up at the top of the forum! So if we were in the 65-70 original production forum the discussion about a 67 might be revelant.:wacko:

Super Snake? No way not ever! They can be built anytime by Shelby and it was built by them as one of the original SS that was offered through participating dealerships never. I just saw a 08 sold off a showroom for 60K. They were originally offered at over 100k.

You can do it yourself through Shelby with all the trimmings for far less. So to say an 07-11 serial number is a valid buying point is moot!;)

    Cheers

Ya, some people just can't see the Forest for the trees! Anyway, who gives a crap about a non performing F-edup Old Rebuilt Dodge Homer? Had one, sold it, made a bundle and wouldn't have another! So what, are you waiting for, it to loose money? Strike that, my bad were talking about 07-11 Shelby's :wacko::whistle:

    Cheers
