When is the supercharger suppose to kick in on the 2010 GT500? It only seems to kick in after 1st gear and when I just about floor it. If I drive it easy, but almost red line it, the supercharge gauge doesn't budge. I've never experienced this in other supercharged cars.

    Re: Supercharger

This was discussed over at Team Shelby when the 07 GT500 came out. As I recall, there was a breakin period set in the computer for the first 500 miles that prevented the supercharger from kicking in. I do not know how this was done. You might check the manual or any web sites dedicated to the gt500.

I have talked to about half a dozen owners in our local club. The range in miles before the s/c kikcked in was from right when they bought it to over a thousand miles. For most it was between 200 and 500 miles if they remembered to record when it happened. Someone mentioned that maybe the local dealer needs to flash the computer and there might be a code or tech update on this.B)

i was told the s/c needs 5 miles to warm up, after that you will need lots of cheese w/ that whine.

It is related to how many times you start the car and turn it off (cycle) that is why everyone is having it happen at different mileages. I think it is about 20 cycles. If you take it to the dealer they can overide it for you

Right, I know all those things. It's just interesting that when I floored the engine the SC kicked in, then I lifted off a bit and the SC stopped running, but the revs kept climbing. Then I got back on it more, and the SC kicked in again. Mine must be a smart SC that knows when to kick in.
