    This is 3120 and I'm not sure anything is original on it.

    Hi all on this thread.Had a look in archives and have several to contribute.That being said the list has cars that appear to have original inboard high beam headlamps.Here goes 1917 2004 2005 2010 2011 2017 2030 2426 and from the convention last year 2013 with an inboard bracket and outboard lights(also has a replacement hood and a complete color change from Lime Gold to Knightmist Blue)There are none in the 3000 range and several of them are on this site so lets here from them.Much like any puzzle we need owner input to help.I think that we will see the inboard type used for the complete production run,maybe it is just wishful thinking.
    Has anyone noticed in the Master Assembly Manual the dates are all 6/13/67 for inboard lights and on page 25 dated 6/14/67 it shows the outboard type?page 33 dated 6/19/67 still illustrates an inboard setup.Any ideas on the dates? seems strange to have drawings dated only 2 months prior to the finish of that years production run.Just thinking outloud...
    Regards P.D.:)

    I have found 5 Shelby's in the 97 Registry as having inboard lights past# 3000- --# 3118-3120-3140-3176-3178 seem's it is now might be displayed in someone's living room or den as a coffee table. An unreal end for this car .

    Hi inboard fans ! thanks to snakeman for the research on cars above #3000.
    As previously stated..Used for the entire run,or very close to it.But as Dave Mathews also says-this information is from the owner(s) of the car.The ones I listed are only the cars that I have seen and in most cases photographed,which have been inboard equipped cars.
    Now a new question....were any other cars with chrome grills made?the only one so far is #544 aka the Super Snake.
    Regards P.D.

    Hi;

    I do not own it any longer, but I owned #1736, a GT500 with inboards, from 2005 to 2007. I have a photo of it when new, and it only had 25k original miles on it when I sold it. Definately an original inboard car. Hope this helps.

    Ken

    Thanks, mustangmann for your information. Patty ,since my last post I found #2115 an interesting car shown to be owned by Nancy & Dave Mathews which can probably be easily confirmed and added to the list of true inboard cars. Snakeman

    As the assembly manual is an compilation of blueprinted illustrations drawn primarily in June of 1967, one has to wonder why they were generated so late? Are these drawings revisions of earlier ones or did SA have to supply assembly instructions for legal purposes before leaving town? It makes little sense to codify practices that are, for all intents and purposes, no longer required. Perhaps they are SA's version of a service manual?

    Hi to Hamilton and all,
    To date nobody has given any idea(s) as to why these are all dated so late.Quite strange like a total year too late!Now we know that the pilot plant car was done in the summer months of 1966 and it was made to look like a G.T.500 This alone makes the dates on the drawings in the manual seem way late.One thing for sure SAI seems to be great at creating confusion especially 42 years later!! Just when we think we have it figured out,something new surfaces.Guess that is what makes and keeps it interesting. Enjoy!!!

    My best guess would be final revisions of previous drawings.Bob
