    Eric:

I like the picture, had no idea that your car was used as a '68 mock up?
I would stick with your current theory until some one can come along and disprove it,

    Kenny,

I am convinced, strongly believe, that the '68 fiberglass was installed while the car was assigned to the Shelby Engineering Department. I am not sure if my car was used as a mock-up for the '68s, but I do think it is entirely possible that it was. I find it highly unlikely that a previous owner would have installed the '68 fiberglass during the relatively short 1969-1972 time frame. As you said, I am sticking with this theory until someone can disprove it.

    Jerome,

Yes, that is my car on the cover of the March 1967 issue of Sports Car Graphic and featured in the road test article inside. My car was also road tested in the February 1967 issues of Car and Driver and Road and Track. The car was mentioned and an interior picture was shown in the April 1967 issue of Motor Trend. I have several copies of each of these magazines.

    Best regards,
    Eric

    Jerome,

Thanks for the offer regarding the magazine. I really do not need another copy right now. Why don't you just hang on to the copy that you have.

But, if you really do not want the magazine anymore; I would be glad to take it off your hands......

    Best regards,
    Eric

Actually a barber who cut the hair of the original owner.
    called me one nite.

said this guy had been in and said he had a shelby years ago
    brought in the stuff
he looked at the serial #
saw my name in the registry

i do not have an unlisted number so i came up in white pages
    so the barber called me.

    he also has a 68..
    so
    birds of a feather....

After reading the order sheet from December of 66
Looks like sexton Ford charged him for the standard Shelby options.
    He paid 4800+-

Cost 29.60$ to register it the first time in Il.

    Dodmort,
I picked up extra lenses fro my 67 GT500 at Napa Parts
part #8945. I also picked up the whole light assembly-part #1115.
The lenses are less than $5 each.

Hi to a longtime owner! Great find with a cool story to match. Now promise to put all this into a frame to keep it preserved. It is so nice to display anytime you get the chance. This is really great stuff and needs to stay protected.
If you get a chance..send copies to the 67 registrar. He is easy to contact on the saac site.
Thanks for the history! regards P.D.

    yes
we are making a very careful effort to preserve and protect the information.
We are contracting with a local frame shop who has mounted some of my Peter Hurd prints( got them when they were cheap). and, only worry is loss by fire.

    Have them scanned...
will post but want to protect the first owner privavcy first...
will probably mark thru their names.
