    Damm!

    Nice rides!

I had zero $ during that time and saw a LOT of great stuff go for almost nothing.

    Good for you!!!

Post pix when you have a chance.

67 GT500 #3081... Moss (dark) green with white stripes, 4 speed, black interior, no AC, detroit locker, originally with inboard headlights (Z in ser #) but I moved them inboard. I feel that this is the way Shelby designed them and look better this way as well.
Currently undergoing a mega thousand and many year ground up, rotissary, nut and bolt, date codes everywhere restoration. I just energized the wiring harnass for the first time, cranking the starter from the key switch and getting all of the lights and flashers working.
I read somewhere that there are 30,000 parts in one of these cars and I believe it as I have repaired, replaced, replated and/or restored pretty much every one over the last 20...yes 20 years.
Good luck to all of you starting a project like this, you'll need it.
    Carl

Send some pictures, it's fun to see this stuff. Here is my 67 GT500 AC car going through restoration 2 years ago. Craig Conley just put 50 miles on it for me with with a data logger and got the double 4 barrels tuned in as good as possible. It gets side ways going into 2nd now, my wife is thrilled.

I had a 1969 gt500 up until 1982 when it was stolen from my home in dallas, texas. I was in california on business when my wife called me and asked if i came home early and no was the answer but the shelby was gone. turned in a police report. found th car about 9 months later, painted red over th green. the police towed it to the impound in dallas. 2 weeks later had heard nothing so i called the investigating officer ans was told that the car was returned to the mechanic where i found it because of liens that he had against it. then th car really disappeared. mechanic claimed no knowledge of having it and all paper work vanished from dallas police dept records. to protect and to serve?????

yes it sucked bad. then the second thing that sucked was 25 years later ford comes out with another beautiful shelby gt500. I was th first one at the ford house to buy one.
salesman said that will be MSRP plus 20k for grins. that was 2007. told him to shove it i'll wait it out. I did that and it worked in 2009.

I really hate to hear that. #2871 is my wife's car ,that is the main reason, she doesn't drive it anywhere ,the fear of it being stolen. Plus she did not like all the attention and constantly bothered with offers and trades , and being harassed by all the young drag racers of the local area.

I had th same problem with my 69 in dallas. I had both men and women follow me home for various reasons,so they said. I moved out of dallas to a small town,,,450 people i think. That does not happen any more. my 2009 is garaged and out of sight. Do you live in a metro area or small town?

Small town about the same size of Lone Oak , with 2 Larger citities North & South of us. But your situation reminds me of when I helped recover a stolen 1969 blue Sportsroof that had been missing for over 10 years, a most satisfying and exciting event. I kind of doubt that after 27 years that your will ever show up, most likely it was parted out and then destroyed.

    Original Shelby Fully Restored #67410F0A02397

My 1967 GT 500 is finally finished - Alcopolco Blue/Black - restored original 10 spoke wheels (5) - original spare tire - restored the original steering wheel - suspension restored to original specs (respring springs) - original galss except windshield - complete new interior with Carrol's signature - engine rebuilt by local race engine builder - tranny rebuilt with heavy duty clutches -
runs out awesome with no problems. 2 year restoration. All numbers are correct to the car.

I am the 4th owner - car was under a tarp in the 3rd owner's back year for 13 years when I purchased her. Others locally say it was in storage another 9 years in the area. Just turned 14K miles. I am trying to establish the correct miles. All 4 owners are in the Registry. Probably a mid 90 point car!

I am thinking of selling her if anyone is interested - I have $250K invested. Email me for pics - have a CD of 90 photos both before after and during resto

    Enjoy,
