Here's a question to stretch the forum's knowledge! What is the paint code or manufactures paint name for the charcoal gray colour painted on Magstar wheels? (Don't say 'Black' 'cos I know it aint!) I've found a company that might be able to refurbish my wheels, but I want to get the correct colour on them. Thanks David
Hi Good question i suppose you mean the Torque Trust D right? American Racing produces the Torque Trust D Originals thats what they are called. You could call an American Racing dealer and ask him what Color it is. The difference between those two mags is just the color of the center. It says "magnesium center" but they just mean the color by that. Thats what the dealer told me. Hope that helps Bye Jerry
First off, Magstars were made by Kelsey Hayes. Torque Thrusts are made by American. I will admit that the TT wheel's grey is close. Maybe somebody has a paint code they tried. BUT, in reality, the Magstar "color" is natural. It is not a paint at all. I'm not sure if that is natural magnisium, or, aluminum. Maybe somebody can enlighten us about this.
Couple of things here - Firstly, I'm talking about Kelsey Hayes Magstars, not Torque Thrusts. Secondly, I've had a good close look at mine, and I would pretty much bet the ranch on gray paint in the centers. These are original wheels, and have not been messed with. I could be wrong, but I don't think so. There have been other threads on this forum about the colour of the centers, and I think the concensus is for gray paint (aftermarket might have been black). I could just do a colour match, but the paint code would be a bonus. Thanks
