Anyone here know mcuh about car #00231 ? Noticed it has a later version rear valance, but car description says unrestored and mostly original paint? Have a friend looking for a 67 with a 427, but I don't know if either of the two originals would be for sale right now? Anyone know? Car 00231 seems not too bad though. Does anyone know what they are asking for it? Randy
Hi Randy, Just wonder where you saw this car(#231) advertised ? Also to complete your question about cars for sale....there are 3 cars known and documented that had 427 engines from new.One is the well known super snake aka # 544 the other two are not restored or are in the process of getting close. They are #289 and # 1947 Good luck to your friend.remind him the 427 engine is one of the most expensive to build, but worth it !! Regards P.D. AKA A.D.& R.R. 3
Thanks for posting pictures Jeff ! Nice to see another car finished. Did you notice what type of headers he used ? This car has paperwork that detailed the Shelby American installation of the engine and what they charged for the entire job.Big money when you think in 1967 terms. The 427 has always been expensive, and fast ! P.D.
Not sure if you can tell what type they are with all the wrap on them Just one of the changes/choices the current owner made when rebuilding the car. Looking at the paperwork Shelby soaked the original buyer for 15 hours for installation of the headers and $146 for purchasing them. Price for car looks to have been $52K!!!! in 1967
Hey there.....did ya ever find this #231 car? This car was once my brothers and I'm trying to track it down. I still have information on the car including where that 427 tunnelport came from. Please advise...…
