Hello, my name is Anthony. I was wondering if anybody could offer some advise. I have a gentleman that wants to consign his 1967 Shelby GT500 with us. He claims it to be very special because it was the first Shelby GT500 with A/C, the prototype car that it was tested on. Also, that the vehicle was owned by Shelby Cars and driven by Carroll Shelby when testing it. It is signed and by him with the words “A/C Prototype” written on top of his name. The car is fully documented and was fully restored last year by Stephen Becker. Do you have any idea what this car is worth? Any advise would be greatly appreciated![IMG]

Bring the car to the Shelby convention and I can tell you how accurate Stephen 's restoration is compared to original if it has changed from when I saw it at BJ. Authintic historically correct restorations have a signifigant effect on the value. The more correct the more the value, at least that is what the current trend is. I saw the car at the BJ auction a couple years ago and have some questions . # 100 is the first GT500 and #100 has air conditioning from the factory. As far as I know # 463 was built after #100 so the natural question is how can # 463 be the first GT500 with Air conditioning as the owner claims ? These questions need to be answered first for myself to come to any price value. Bob

I've been informed that it is the 1st GT500 with the 428 police interceptor engine that had A/C. Car #100 had the smaller engine in it.
