Hi, I owned that 68 Shelby at the end of the 70's and sold it in 1980. How are you related to that car ? Guy
Bought it off a GUY ( a mustang nut like me ) living on a farm not far from your post code Join Date: May 31st, 2008 I see you just join was it luck or did some tell you that someone was Looking for info on # 01435. I had the car only for a 6-8 month sold the car after losing the the place were I keep her. I was hope to get some photo of her all fix up. I had bad luck bad back then, I had 2 68 conv the Shelby and a mustang If my luck was good I would still have the Shelby as it is I just have the mustang
It was pure luck. Two weeks ago, I was looking for my birth certificate and had to go through boxes of old papers. Doing so, I found a SAAC membership application form that I had filled out at the time but that I never mailed. The Ford VIN was on that form. I was curious about what happened to the car and thought about looking up the Shelby registry. When I found that the registry was not available online, I googled the VIN and the only hit that came out was your post. I was very surprise when I saw it had been posted only two days before ! I had the car painted in blue. Was it gold when you bought it ?
The car was painted blue, it had no engine or transmission, it had air-conditioning in the trunk (which means it had holes on both sides lol ). There was a lot of rust damage so it needed a floor, torque boxes and side rails ect ect. Put simply: It needed a lot of work. But it was a real Shelby, so I paid the price he asked for, I didn't even bargain on it. So since your not the guy I bought it from because you would have know there was no engine, personal message me the price you sold it and I'll tell you the price I paid (I don't want to sound foolish; it was a lot for a car with no engine, especially in the 80'S). I'm gonna post the last picture I took of it, so if you have some, I would like to see some photos of the car when you had it.

Yes I still have it. Looks about the same as it did when I took it home on the car dollie. I have collected a ton of NOS parts over the years. Have located correct engine, tranny[auto], 10 spokes,speed-way tires,etc... I have just about everything to get started. Chris
welcome to site thefordshow. 20 years and you have not work on it. You sound just like me. Don't be shy I know because you told me there more than one Shelby and hot Mustang in your house
Hi, I haven't seen the car since I sold it in the summer of 1980. It looks exactly the same, except for the wheels. It's good to know it's still around after all these years even though Ontario sounds less romantic than Australia...
Hi Guy Rivard thanks for your photo. what was different abut the wheels. what do you remember of the guys you bought from or sold the Shelby to? Australia right hand steering wheel be cool to see.
