    Hi guys,
A friend of mine in Sweden told me that he bought a 4-speed
transmission and when he got home he found a 7R02KXXXXXX
number stamped in the housing. I contacted Dave Mathews who
confirmed it was from an original GT350 and he was able to locate
the current owner of that Shelby who is interested to buy the trans.
How it ended up in Sweden, nobody knows for sure yet.

What a lucky find for the owner of that car, assuming that this does not question the integrity of said car.

When I had my 67 GT500, Dave contacted me and told me he had my original toploader. I purchased it from him and reunited it with my car. SAAC had just uncovered the paperwork that linked the Ford VINs with the Shelby numbers. Dave said he had kept that transmission knowing it was for a 67 Shelby but until they found the paperwork he didn't know which car it belonged to.
    Thanks again Dave!

Just curious, what year was it that the paperwork was uncovered by SAAC?
It's great that a lot of info is available for our cars considering their history and age.

I'm not sure what year the 67 info was found. I think he contacted me sometime around 1994 and said the paperwork had just recently been discovered.
