Here is my 67 GT500. It is #1736, and has only 24,800 original miles. Still has it's original shocks, belts, and spare tire. :p

Are you goin to pick it up in person ? We might be able to make a Shelby Fourms event out of the big moment. I might be looking for a excuse to drive the 66.

    Re: Shelby GT500 - Who's got one?

They actually ask you to put about 50-100 miles on it before you take it home or ship it. So I imagine I will be there sometime in July. You can drive it, put a few miles on it for me, doesn't bother me. With 725hp you better hold on to it though.

They had A few original Shelby's at Unique when I was there in February. I saw where they keep the donor cars (Original Mustangs) too. Pretty amazing the state some of those cars are in and what they bring them back to. Most of those cars would rust into oblivion but they are able to salvage about 90% of what they get in.

    Re: Shelby GT500 - Who's got one?

    Hi Kiwi-Shelby

Nice Shelby too! We can leave LHD over here and still have it on full rego as long as the car is over 30 yrs old. Would be mad to convert to RHD. Car was restored in the US at Tango in MA. The owner put the car in to have the resto finished but suddenly passed away in Aug 05, so while I bought it through Tango I bought it off the Estate.

Found in storage since 1974 with 39000 miles. The car sold new at Carey Paul Ford in Decatur Georgia and made it's way to Virginia. I have the bill of sale when the car was purchased from Tysinger Motors in Hampton in 1969. The car earned a Chairman's Award, Orignal/Unrestored Cars and was certified as a Survivor at SAAC 31. Here is a link to an article the MCA "Mustang Times" did about the car a few years ago:

Joe, It is great to see another local here. I hope to get out to the show at Chesapeake. Maybe it will cool off some between now and then.
