    Description/History:

    1967 GT500 #1736
This 24,900 original mile 67 GT500 was sold new at Clark Ford Sales, in Wapakoneta, Ohio, and was kept by the dealer for about 2 years before being sold to the public. Shortly after it was delivered to the dealer, it was taken to the local Fair, where it raced a quarter horse on the horse track, and lost! "Follow me horse" was written on the rear window in shoe polish! Jerry Clark (who is still in business, and still runs the dealership!) lent the car to a friend, in 1968 for a weekend, and his name is Stanley Maxson. Stanley took a photograph of the car with his son, Matthew. I have a copy of that photo. The car was sold in 1969 or 1970 to Robert LaWarre, who eventually moved to Florida. The car was stored for a number of years, and was brought out to Arizona in the mid 1990's. It was re-painted, and sold to a couple in Florida, and that is where I found it. It retains many of it's original parts, such as belts, most hoses, suspension and shocks, and the spare tire. It is a pleasure to drive. There are still many factory assembly line markings that are visible under the car.

    Hello,

Great picture! Very nice looking '67 GT500. Glad to hear that you do still drive it. Having the greatest fighter plane of WWII as a back drop is awesome! Hope that you continue to drive your car and enjoy owning it.

    Best regards,
    Eric

Run it against that P-51 and get another photo.

You know, Lime Green was soooo popular back then. Still looks good today.
    Nice looking car, and airplane.

Thanks to all for the nice compliments! Since the photo was taken, I actually got to know the P51 pilot, and was given a ride (with acrobatics!:lmao: ) at the MCA Nationals, in Concord, CA in June of 2007. It was absolutely the most fun anyone can have! He did a 3.2g banking turn over the show field, and I blacked out for a couple of seconds! AWESOME!!!
