    Fellas,

Only having driven my car a couple hundred miles after restoration, is it common in a 67 GT500 to have a big bang in the back end when slowing to a stop. The tranny is down shifting into 1st but man is it a strong thud. Same is true when I am going about 50mph+ and hammer the throttle, just huge "Bam". Also, after backing up and shifting into drive "BAM" Does something need adjustment? Bad part/parts? Or is this common with the C-6.

Get to a reputable Tranny shop with it ASAP. it could just be that you are not used to the 60's version of an Automatic transmission. but if that is not the case, something is wrong and it will go BANG and leave you stranded.

Could be just an agressive 60's style tranny I am not use to. I drive a mercedes s-55 for a daily driver and shifts a LITTLE smoother!!
