Should the bell housing on a 1967 FE be corporate blue or natural cast color or natural with blue paint overspray ??

The bellhousing was bolted to the block before painting. It would be cast iron with overspray from the painting of the block. Typically a inch or so. Ford corporate dark blue.

Just to add to Bob's great post. This process also meant that the engine plant *the large sheet metal plate between the engine and bellhousing received a good coating of engine paint along the top and side exposed surfaces add along the bottom section between the oil pan and plate with fading to little or no covereage where the starter would eventually be attached
