Have you been to the Shelby American production facility and museum in Las Vegas? If so, tell us about your visit. If not, do you plan on checking it out some time?

Yes, a number of times. The most recent was last February. The first visit was when it was not yet officially openned. My signature is above the door to the Cobra Production shop (still there, I checked). As the place was still under construction, I used a 5 gal. paint pail to stand on to place my signature up high. At the time there were porbably less than a hundred signatures in the hall. What a difference 15 years(?) later. Lots of improvements to the layout of the entry and assembly area as well. Originally the offices, including Shelby's, and conference room was where the store is now and the Museum was only half the size as a number of the cars and traucks were still in Gardena until the remodel.

Haven't been, but plan too at some. Anyone know the best time to visit? I would not want to visit during a busy event to keep the visit more enjoyable.
    TIA

Obviously you want to visit when the tours are available in the morning inorder to see everything including the production area kin back.

As a side trip after the tour, I recommend you go up the couple of miles on Speeway Blvd towards the Las Vegas track entrance and ticket office. There is a great NASCAR gift shop that has a few Shelby items in it as well.

I just might have to go again in February.

Being your birthday, you could have at least talked to them about a ride:thumbup:

Went on the tour this morning. Almost 5 years to the day from my last visit.
Not sure if it has been talked about yet in tbe forum, but they have a wide body program
Going on. Brochures not out yet. Wider front and rear fenders.if memory serves 10" rims up front and 13" at the rear. Cost is 17K. I'll try to add some pics later.

I remember seeing something about this on TV (don't remember the show). The panels, if I recall, are bonded on with a special glue.

The front fenders are completely replaced with the wider flare already bonded.
The rear flares are bonded to the body although the tour guide did not go into too many details.
No brouchures for this yet as the details were just approved last week.
I think he also mentioned that the cars get re-branded as Shelby wide body cars.
Here is the '07 they had in the museum as an example. DSC_0069-1.jpg DSC_0070-1.jpg DSC_0076-1.jpg DSC_0077-1.jpg

Here is a few more pictures of the cars currently in the museum.
Most are still the same I saw 5 years ago, some are new such as the daytona.
