    I was lucky enough to be asked to see a car in a garage last week..now I have seen and it is unbelievable. 52K mile 68 gt 350 in red..4 spd as well..here are some pics:

    Was the inspection sticker dated 4/1989 Looks awful familiar.

    no inspection sticker at all..had the red NJ DMV must inspect by card, but it was too faded to make out a date..plates are the older blue type??

    Bet I have some old Polaroids of that car dating back to the late 80's or early 90's. What does he want for it?

    Very nice. A dual serial number car is always cool. Missing a few parts and few others changed, but glad to see its still around. I dont see anything to indicate its not an original car.

    It's original, I believe I put that battery box in for a previous owner :doh:

    Not for sale anymore :)..will be bringing it home next week.

    owner has a pic of the car from the 80's..has not changed much.

    can anyone elaborate on the tag numbers., build time..Shelby production number etc...I dont speak Ford that well :)

    Its car # 327 (that ought to be easy for a Chevy guy :D ) I dont have my registry or notes in front of me but was probably built at Ford around 3rd-4th week Nov 67.

    You have what is referred to a "dual serial number" car. As Tim said, it was a late November/Early December build. There were several hundred cars built very early in production that used two serial numbers on the Shelby VIN tag. This was later changed to just one number. The small tag by the hood hinge is the build tag. It contains codes that refer to the original configuration of the car. You can probably find a build sheet behind the dashboard with similar codes.

    The car was originally sent to Al Grillo Ford in Lynn, Massachusetts. The joke here is, did you check the trunk?

    This car would have been built with an autolite carb. It currently has a Holley. The thermactor emissions are also missing. The shifter and console gauges have also been changed out. You will also find the car has been apart and repainted. The rear, lower valence has been replaced.

    I would be interested to know what the back of the lower, front valence looks like? Is it smooth or choppy fiberglass? Is there a original spare tire? Is there anything from Grillo Ford with the car?

    Nice work and a great find. Thought all the barn finds were 'found.' Guess there is always hope.
