    Gorgeous.

I Got to see the real thing at a car show, absolutely amazing. I would love to have one, too bad they are all spoken for, and im about $140,000 short of the $150,000 sticker. Alas, youth!

I had the opportunity to drive the red "press" car. It is everything you have heard and more. Passing traffic went crazy when they saw the GT. Even a Corvette ZO6 owner was giving it a big thumbs up. This car has plenty of power, unbelievable brakes and fantastic grip. It is bigger than you would expect and the exhaust is way too quiet. Also, the rear bumper needs to go. Other than those minor quibbles, it's just about perfect. Unfortunately, the price is currently running up to 100k over sticker. I'll wait for all of the "flavor of the month" crowd to move on to something else and then see about getting one.

Are you press, because if your not, I want to know how you got the keys, so I can!

I heard the car gets a 1.06g on the skid pad. But if the Enzo "only" gets 1.01, and if I recall correctly, they top speeds are reletively close, shouldn't the GTs target have been the Enxo instead of the low (as Ferraris go) 360 Modena?

lots of different kits out there.
but the original was a kit pretty much.
it was based on the Lola with
a ford motor and a ZF tranny
the ZF with the 7 bolt bell not the 4 bolt bell.
ZF is german for the guy that invented it.
there were not many made, only 3 in 1968
i dont really understand why the ford gt sells for 150 up
when the c6 corvette is equal for 1/3 the money.
i also dont understand why the porsche carrera gt sells for 450,000 when it only seats two people as well.

    Re: Ford GT Photos

a C6 equal? How? Corvettes dont have the same road holding, and i think they have slower (not by much though) 0-60. And anyway, the GT has exclusivity, while anybody with the cash can get a corvette.

    just a thought.

    Re: Ford GT Photos

well exclusitivity yes because they are only going to make 450 of them and then stop producing them. but worth a laugh or a cry as they have ford focus steering, aston martin and jaguar parts. i guess it is the ultimate kit car. they will get over 200mph where the vette can only get 175, but at least the vette has all its own parts. don't get me wrong, even 1075 that won at lemans in 68 and 69 had RF transaxle, etc; but you think ford could have made the new gt with all its own bits.
i guess they need to make stickers that say kit cars rule! and paste it on the back bumper of each new gt.....
