Well JP, you have a lot of reading and catching up to do. There are a lot of posts pertaining to the different features of the early built 67's. Do a search and you will be amazed. I'm surprized you didn't say a word about the upper scoop lights, the one peice slanted grill, the body color outer headlight rings and a whole lot of other little nuances.

And, does your car have a factory installed trunk light? Just wondering as #0002 didn't even have a hole punched in the metal underliner for it.

Is the supercharger from a "Cobra Kit"? Too early to have one from the factory.

And, usuallly a louvered hood came on a GT 500 with A/C, so again, might you have modified the car or did it come this way.

0002 recently changed hands . I may have corresponded with the owner of 0003 many years ago . My memory fails me . Wasn't this the car that the Shelby tag was misplaced after a incident while being transported? I might be thinking of 0005. they all are starting to run together. Bob

I would be very careful with this one boys and girls. 67 # 3 was a factory engineering car. I suspect it has a factory installed supercharger and was used in some very early 1968 press pictures. It has woodgrain door panels not the brushed aluminum. It has no upper lights in the scoops and 1968 tail lights. Conventional rules may not apply to this car.

Just what I posted. The Coralsnake likes the weird and unusual, so factory engineering cars are always of interest.

Getting the pictures was not that difficult - believe it was on Ebay one or about 8/18/2007. Got fifteen pictures from that one

Only mention I've seen about being a "factory engineering car" was in the ad or from a thread about the car at the time. Haven't seen any Shelby documents that listed the car that way yet

    to my fellow michigan folks
seeing that the engineer and gt500#2100 are close to me and if your interested, I would like to invite you to see the car. You both are likely more Tuned to these cars than most.
Keep in mind this car is not restored, and outside of a color change & headers
it is as it was when aquired. You can even take what pictures u wish.
let me know if your interested
    thanks

Someone always has to pull back the curtains on the all powerful Oz.

Cars assigned to Ray Geddes weren't used by secretaries. He was Ford's racing manager. I might dig for more....

I got a email from Dave Mathews SAAC 67 Shelby registrar after I inquired about #0003's engineering car status. His reply stated that the car was assigned to Ray Geddes as a company car. Geddes worked for Leo Beebe and had responsibility for Ford's sports car program. On 9/10/67 the car was taken out of service and sold to a Ford Motor Company employee. It is believed that this employee did a number of modifications to the car including a color change, adding a Paxton, louvered hood, outboard grill and some 68 features. He goes on to say that he does not have any documentation that would indicate that the modifications where done at the factory . What a lucky guy the first owner was to have access to a readily available supply of Shelby parts which in today's world are extremely rare to personalize his then new 67 Shelby the way he wanted to. I own 0005 and the original Shelby tag is intact. My car did sustain damage while being transported by the previous owner. I bought it as a basket case in the early '90's.
