Carroll Shelby Children’s Foundation to Match Kid’s Art Contest Entries for COTA
GARDENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Carroll Shelby Children’s Foundation has announced that it will match the donations raised from entry fees for the 6th Kid’s Automotive Art Contest. Carroll Shelby and his team have joined forces with Road & Track and the Automotive Fine Arts Society to revive the contest after a six year hiatus. Sponsored by Wells Fargo and numerous automotive companies, the Kid’s Automotive Art Contest challenges children to draw or paint the car they would like to drive when they grow up. The Foundation has agreed match each $5 entry fee for the contest and has pledged to donate all proceeds to the Children’s Organ Transplant Association. “We’re dedicated to helping families overcome life-threatening illnesses while also promoting the importance of organ and tissue donation,” said Carroll Shelby, founder of the Carroll Shelby Children’s Foundation. “By matching the fees collected from this contest, we hope to accelerate the wonderful work done by our friends at COTA. My personal goal is to ignite a passion for design among children and also spark interest in fellow Americans for helping kids cope with serious health issues.” Entries are now arriving for the contest and can be sent to the Foundation through March 29, 2008. Additional information and entry form’s are available at www.kidsautomotiveartcontest.com.
