1965 Mustang Convertible Hi-Po
A True K-Code, Unrestored, Very Very Original and Even More Rare Than A
Shelbyl!! It is unknown how many exactly were produced, but I have only seen a
few.
Vin# 5F08K252098 Built August 3, 1964 ( 64.5 ?? )
Factory Original Options: High Performance V8 289 w/ 271Hp, Borg Warner
4spd Toploader, (5) Original Style Steel Wheels, Console, Two Spd. Wipers,
Am-Radio
This is one the most Rare and unique cars we at Orlando Mustang have ever
owned. This car is from our private collection. We purchased this amazingly
preserved Convertible from the original owner in 1999. As did the previous and
original owner, we have tried to preserve and maintain this rare find.
This Mustang has only been driven 60,709 miles, and has been garaged/stored
the last two decades. Over the years, the original owner made very few
modifications the vehicle. Some aftermarket gages were installed under the dash,
a Shelby style tach was added to the dash( no holes drilled), and a 2X4
intake was partially installed, but never completed. In addition the floors
had some minor floor work/ repairs with the carpet and seats removed. This left
the car in a un-drivable condition. When we purchased the car in the fall
of '99, she had four flats, a thick layer of dirt/dust over entire car and it
had not been moved or started for quite sometime...
After purchasing the car we gathered up all the loose parts/pieces and began
to decode what we discovered was so rare. First to Engine Bay, Every Man's
First Stop. Engine runs. Started again just recently. No smoke, Needs
Tuning, has not run in years

dents visible in pictures. Original Paint in Trunk, Door Jams, Trunk Jam, The
Front Fenders and hood were repainted many years ago, due to very light
front accident. The current hood is a '65, but I have a new OEM Ford Tooled, Not
A Cheap REPO actual 641/2 Hood w/ Proper Winged front Edges New In Box.( cost
$450) Take your choice of the Hoods. New Front Valence Painted To match car
installed, Overall its very presentable, but needs to restored someday...

Bumper Guards, Convertible Boot Chrome w/ Snaps, Quarter emblems, Windshield
Chrome (excellent), New Repo Front Bumper, Original Horse & Corral, Grill
Glass: Original Side Glass, all in Excellent conditon, NO Scratches, Front
Windshield was perfect, Cracked Horizontally, Quarter glass Perfect, Vent
Wings, Some Pitting,useable
Convertible Top: All Original, ( I have never seen one), very worn, Torn in
several places, great sample, Top frame is in good condition, and power top
is fully operational, no problems
Wheels: 5- Original 14x5 Style Steel Wheels w/ (4) new 195/75 Tires,
Includes (3) Original Black Steel Wheels Dated 4m. Spare tire is probably original
dated 4M w/ US Royal dual Red Line tire 6:95X14, Original Jack Handle and
Early Tie Down Hardware
Interior: All original Seats, Door Panels, Dash Pad, Console, and Paint,
Seats are excellent, some small stains, driverside has on weak spot 3"(
splitting seam, easy fix), Original heater box, and very rare cardboard plenum
(perfect condition) A-fresh air vent, original steering wheel ( small cracks, can
repair) Overall again very well preserved, may have to repaint metal areas.
Body & Rust History: Unfortunately this vehicle started as a daily driver in
Ohio, so the rear quarters and floors have some rust. The rust is mostly
contained the rear quarters, and the floors. There is very little surface rust
above the rockers anywhere on the car. It will need the L-lower quarter and
wheel house area repaired, However the R-quarter will probably have to be
changed due to the rust in the wheel lip. Most of the rust is just in this area.
Front Floors need what I call half pans, from the edge of the sub-rail to the
rocker, The rear floors had some small patch work years before, and could be
left alone or cleaned up. Both L/R Inner rockers have some small holes, not
sure if partial rails could be installed, its not problem right now, maybe in
the future. No rust in the door jams or trunk jam, Some rust at trunk floors,
see picture. Excellent doors, minor surface rust on bottom edges, L/ R
Fenders no signs of rust at all. Cowl test failed, so it needs cowl hats. Front
fender aprons, are excellent, small rust area at firewall and cowl area
r-side??, Front core support was changed many years ago when hood was changed
mostlikely at Ford dealer. (hard to detect), Correct 641/2 Headlight buckets.
Original grill and hardware.
If the front fenders and hood had not been repainted years ago, this would
be what MCA calls a Survivor Car. One that has 80% original paint and mostly
original parts. Well this car falls into that catagory if you discount the
paint issue. This Mustang still wears what I would call 60% Original Paint,
Original Interior, Original Trunk and Accessories, and Most Definately that all
Coveted 271hp V8 package.
Future: This car could be brought to daily driver standards very easily, and
affordable. More importantly though. It could restored to the highest
standards of MCA, Concours Trailered with all the original parts and pieces
incorporated into the restoration making it one the most valuable and rare cars to
this day.
This car is available to viewed by appointment in Osteen, Florida
It runs on a bottle of gas due to the original tank has debris
Brakes are complete but need to be rebuilt. All lights are operational. Car
will drive around the block but is un-safe to drive until brakes and fuel
tank are addressed
