Steering Wheels

I was looking at an old copy I have of the "High Performance Part and Accessories book", and looking at the steering wheels section the one I was looking for was under interior accessories. It was a 3 spoke simulated wood and leather wrapped 15 inch diameter with hub kit with the Shelby badge as thr horn button. Does anyone have one of these for sale, I have never seen one of these ever on any of the SDAC mail lists or posts. If not I am still looking for the ones that came in the 87 Shawdow CSX.

Later,
Brian

Re: Steering Wheels

I have a 4-spoke wheel from a Shelby Lancer, which is the same one that was used in the '87 CSX. I also have the center cap, but not the hub kit. I do know of a wrecking yard that had one on my last visit. I may be able to get it next time I go..... -Patrick

Re: Steering Wheels

I've always thought the 3-spoke wheel only came on '89 CSX and Dakotas. There used to be an '88 CSX-T in my neighborhood which had the 4-spoke

  2. '87 Daytona Shelby Z original owner-215,000 miles

Re: Steering Wheels

I've still got a 3 spoke and the '87 that was in Hemings Muscle Machines has a 3 spoke . . . I'm not saying I'm right, I'm just trying to get the information straight.

Re: Steering Wheels

No I have not really come across the steering wheel yet. I am still looking for one that is still in relatvely good condition. If you hear of one please let me know. I have one question though do you think that these steering wheels will look out of place in a 87 shelby z with the twilight blue interior? Though I would love to find one of the simulated wood wrapped wheels that they offered in the perfomance catalog way back when.

Later,

Brian

Re: Steering Wheels

I think the Shelby wheel would look great in the Daytona's blue interior. The blue CS logo on the horn button is a near perfect match.
