Anybody have any history on COB 501 427 side oiler car ?

I don't recall any 3 digit COB cars with a # like that.

Typical VIN is COB 6XXX

...he could be referring to the license plate number, which follows the car in UK

This is the Vin# .
Aparently the car was given to the Boss of AC. for supplying the bodies.
I have seen this car , and had a run in it . My cheeks are just coming back to where they should be .
Could it be a mistake and be 601 or is this impossible.
