CSX 3012 For Sale at Russo and Steele

Hey guys,

Should be exciting to see what the market right now is willing to give a car like this. Of Spinout fame. Car was rebuilt with new chassis and aluminum bodywork? At least the seller is honest, but wouldnt that make a completion car with a lower serial #?

Best Regards,
Vern

No. Completion cars were built in CA by CS. This was not.

CSX3012 is in race-car heaven; there is no doubt about that.
The paperwork survived.

This is a new car, with the paper-trail DNA, and the legitimate heir to the CSX number.

Only what it is in your own mind, as the buyer, will set the value.

This car was at R-S in Monterey in 2006 and was on eBay in 2007.

The completion car thing was more of a pun than anything else.

Ya, i saw it as russo before and then on ebay...wonder what a new paint job can do for the price.

I dont have my registry handy but were there two cobras used in spinout? For some reason, i seem to have it in my head that 3011 was the spinout car until i saw this car.

Best Regards,
Vern

Mecum, in their lit on the auction of CSX3011 in 2006 claimed it was "thought to be" the car driven by Elvis.

I think there were 3 cars rented to MGM

Never seen the movie, is it worth renting/watching? Does the cobra/other significant cars appear often or only briefly?

Best Regards,
Vern

Gee Vern

Any Elvis movie is worth watching.

Spinout is one of the "best" of the Elvis movies. None of the movies broke any new ground in the world of cinema. But if you admire Elvis' singing, they are all worthy of a viewing.
