The chrome thingy is a side light to illuminate the numbers for night time racing such as the 12 Hours of Sebring. The lights are on both sides of the car and they are actually trunk/liscence plate lights.

So.....this car went from a 289 Slab Side Car to a Flared Side Car with Oil Cooler Opening below the Grille. Why? Does it help or hurt the Value by doing this????????? Please educate me on this.

There is a nice pic of 2009 unloading at Nassau with the factory entry and 2011 for speed weeks in Dave Friedman's book.
