Those Shelby 'spec racers' do COST a ton of money, about $200K easily. As far as I know the race series never really took off, don't hear much about it anymore at least. Recently a spec racer, new and ready to roll, from a dealer was offered at $300,000 PLUS. Not street legal, no series to run them in, I'm afraid I don't understand the concept here...

The Shelby Spec Racers, also known as the Challenge Series Cobras, are still around. Here on the West Coast, they participate in several of the historic classes with some of the vintage clubs. They just ran here in Phoenix at PIR with the HSR West group. I also might add that they also won there class!

I know, I saw the posting earlier. I spoke with RM about the low estimate and they said that they had no idea on an estimate. I think (and hope) with Shelby's presence, it will go for a lot more. Our fingers are crossed! Thanks for your support. I also spoke with Jenni Shreeves from the Carroll Shelby Childrens Foundation and she is going to get in touch with Robert Lane about putting it on the Team Shelby web site. Anything helps!

You know...i dont think the low estimate is even going to matter.
From looking at the pictures...this car looks like the kind of ride that will blow anybodys socks off if seen in person. Id have to say that your car is actually the one car that stands out to me as being a car that i absolutly must see before i leave....well, that and 2011 of course. Im sure you will get all the money even if c shelby isnt there. However, it will go big if he is there. Best Regards, Vern
