Re: Daytona Coupe In The MONKEES

I always like watching the older TV Shows like the Monkee's, Andy Grifith, and others and old Movies like the original "Gone in 60 Seconds, "Its a Mad Mad Mad World" and most of Elvis's Movies because you cn see a lot of cool classic Cars in the Back Ground. In the original Gone in 60 Seconds" movie, while being chased, Ellenaor zooms past a Grabber Blue 1970 BOSS 302, almost clipping the Left Rear Qurter Panel. The BOSS was NOT one of the Movie Cars either. A lot of Elvis Movies had Cobra's, Shelby's and Mustangs in them. Oh year.....dont for get the Love Bug Movies..........LOL.
David.

Re: Daytona Coupe In The MONKEES

Has anyone here ever seen the Movie "HOLLYWOOD KNIGHTS"? It is my All Time Favorite Movie. It has a Cobra in it as part of the Story. Tony Danza drove a Blown Yellow 1957 Chevy that LOST to the Cobra in a Street Race. At the end of the Movie, the Purple People Eater Rail Job blew the doors off the Cobra. Does anyone know if the Cobra was Real or a Kit?
David.

Re: Daytona Coupe In The MONKEES

I Spy had one sceen with a very young Ron Howard that had a 427 Cobra in the parking lot as well as a '66 G.T.350 (I think it was in the same show).

My favorite Cobra movie has to be Gumball Ralley. I recently picked it up as part of a double feature. It was bundled with Cannonball II. I've watched Gumball several times. I have yet to see Cannonball.

Re: Daytona Coupe In The MONKEES

If the Daytona car number (13) is correct, that is the one currently owned by Larry Miller that was at SAAC-32 in Utah and is kept in his museum at the track or at his Shelby American Museum in Colorado. It would be the Daytona on the SAAC 32 ball cap. Larry should run this video in the
Museum.

Re: Daytona Coupe In The MONKEES

I watch reruns of Rockford Files and Adam12 when they drive around you see Shelbys on the streets or in drive ways. Who has the 68 Shelby convert that was in Get Smart and the red 69 Shelby Convert that Bill Cosby drove in his T.V show when he played a Gym teacher?

csx 2019 was in Viva Las Vegas after being used in the 260 cobra brochure as a PR car and before being converted to the first factory raced dragonsnake. i also a wanting to say that csx 3011 I think was in another elvis movie...Spinout maybe rings a bell.
Best Regards,

Some history of Phil Spectors Daytona Coupe (be sure to click for photos). S This story would make a great made for TV movie.
