And wasn't it supposed to have a bar called the Cobra room

I heard it had a bar called the Cobra room. I have heard of car dealerships with restaurants (Galpin) but not a bar. Was anybody there back in the day? Was it a veritable trophy room with lots of racing pictures and trophies on the wall? Wish I coulda been there....

The Dallas dealership

If you're talking about the one owned with Dick Hall, brother of racer
Jim Hall, that was not a Ford dealership but a foreign car dealership with believe it or not, the Rolls Royce and Bentley franchise. They also imported LIsters, British race cars which sometimes ran Chevys. The Hall brothers inherited their money from parents who were in the oil biz and killed in a plane crash. Carroll Shelby taught Jim Hall how to drive a race car, and decades later Hall ran his Chaparral against the combined might of the GT40s and beat them on at least one occasion (Nurburgring).
At the time Shelby co-owned Carroll Shelby Sports Cars in Dallas he also
put together the deal to put Italian bodywork on Corvettes. three of the cars were built but Chevy cut them off from new chassis after they worried his cars would make the Corvettes look frumpy.
