The AC Cars LeMans coupe

AC Cars made their own coupe, registred BPH4B orignally, and it didn't look anything like a Daytona. It crashed at LeMans on lap 78, in an accident that resulted in 3 deaths of spectators in the wrong place at the wrong time. The car was restored by a guy from Scotland around 1981 and ran
several ACOC events, plus the 2001 Le Mans Classic Cavalcade

It was at least 15 mph faster than the Cobra roadster with hardtop
and was clocked at over 180 mph on the then new M1, which led to a hue and cry which led to speed limits.

There's word someone in England is making copies of it as well, as the Brits
think of it as "our coupe" as opposed to the ones made by the Texan

Yes that is the A98 Coupe, which has been extensivly written about. It is said to takes more styling cues from the GT0 250 then it does from the Brock coupe.

From the Cobra Ferrari Wars, "Jack Sears at the time of the M1 testing. AC cars considered the newly-completed M1 Motorway a handy place to test their new creation and chose a Wednesday morning at 4:30 a.m. Jack Sears admitted "something over 180 mph" and the press went crazy.
