Do You Also Agree With Carroll?

"Once we closed the company's doors, we stepped out of the picture. If it wasn't for a small handful of owners and enthusiasts who dedicated themselves to these cars, the Cobras and Shelby Mustangs would be just so many old, used cars today. That dedication is illustrated by this registry."

SAAC's exceptional dedication is responsible for keeping the bloodline of these cars from being diluted by fakes and look-alikes. That translates into the continuing high level of interest in them as well as their high values. The publication of a book like this assures Cobras and Shelby Mustangs their rightful place in automotive history. An incredible amount of work has gone into gathering the information contained in this book, sorting though it, organizing it and then turning it into printed page. It is turly a labor of love for everyone who was involved. I know what thats all about, because the cobra was a labor of love for me.

Agree or disagree - But PLEASE keep it civil. This is a horse that has been beaten to the ground. I hope this does not turn into another thread for people to flame each other.

Re: Do You Also Agree With Carroll?

I just think that is a nice intro. I really do not think SAAC is or was a big influence in the interest or the popularity of the cars.

I say that because even those car enthusiasts who are not into Mustangs or sports cars have a deep respect in what Carroll Shelby was able to accomplish. Not only did he successfully market his own car, he was able to bring home a world racing championship. He embodies every backyard mechanic's dream.

Amen, mrmustang. Perhaps we could all let old dogs lay. There is so much more we could be alking about on these sites thean rehashing this story. The key players in this story are the only ones that know the facts and the rest of us have only opinions and assumptions.

Agree Disagree
SAAC didn't make the cars, the cars (and enthusiast) made SAAC. SAAC protects the cars authenticity and (even some of Shelby's) heritage .

Re: Do You Also Agree With Carroll?

I sense that this could evolve into another Shelby/SAAC rift thread. There is enough of that already going on other forums. I am closing that discussion here.
