Re: Shelby SAAC update

Why don't you all come over to NJ this weekend to SAAC #33 and ask Rick, Ken and Amy. I'm know some statment will be made or you can just sit on the sidelines

Re: Shelby SAAC update

As was stated in the public announcements, more details will follow in the coming weeks. Right now, everyone involved is ear-deep in the Convention this weekend.

Suffice it to say that "business" returns to normal, with a stronger relationship between the Shelby group and SAAC.

Re: Shelby SAAC update

I didn't realize there was a public statement saying more info is coming. Thanks, Ron.

Appreciate if you could post a link if you have one... I've search but have come up only with the old statements, etc.

"It's Over
Written by Webmaster
Friday, August 08 2008
The Shelby American Automobile Club has reached an agreement with Carroll Shelby and his companies to end the legal battles and return to the normal life of having fun and enjoying the people and the cars of our hobby.

Today, August 8, 2008, an agreement was signed, putting behind us the turmoil and uncertainty that accompanied this legal conflict. We are now and forever the Shelby American Automobile Club.

This is the result of some very hard work by people from both organizations. Rick and Ken, as well as efforts by Dave Mathews, Ron Richards and Dave Winkler at SAAC... and Amy Boylan and Carroll Shelby at CSL and Shelby Autos.

... all worked through the negotiations that settled any and all disagreements and put us all on the same page... where we can all get back to enjoying the cars and the history of Shelby American.

Much more detail to follow over the next few weeks, but, now more than ever:
..... don't miss the celebration at SAAC-33...

We'll be there...Team Shelby will be there... this is what it's all about.

Spread the word......It's over."

It's already been stated that SAAC keeps the registry and their name. That's all I need to know to be happy about it, and I don't see what's wrong with that... I especially don't think that makes me a mindless fool. I prefer to think of myself as a moronic clown.

That's just how *I* would feel, certainly not saying anyone else does or should feel that way, Josh. Thanks for the info on the SAAC name and registry (if so) -- that's the kiind of info I'd like to see in a joint statement by SAAC/Shelby-companies or in a press-release.

Lacking that we have no idea what the state of affairs may *actually* be. Doing so is basic good business sense, imho. Frankly, I don't see what the big deal is. It will eventually all come out anyway. Most businesses prefer to manage their image directly rather than have others do it for them <lol> ...corporate intransigence on something like this (settlement of a dispute) just makes no sense to me, but then again it might if we knew the details. That's the whole point. That's why I'm curious. That's why the conflicting statements are curious. ;-)

Re: Shelby SAAC update

I just hope that both Clubs can play well together and that there will be MORE Events. I am a Member of Team Shelby and MCA, I was a Member of SAAC and may be again in the Future, only Time will tell.

Thanks to all involved! I believe that the crux of the whole situation is captured in the quote from Amy above.

Let's get back to enjoying ourselves.

I never stopped enjoying myself and my car, this whole thing has zero effect on me.

Re: Shelby SAAC update

Well now.............
As a long time member of SAAC and a short time member of Team Shelby, it appears that I should be relieved by this news. (Never "should" on yourself)

Having listened to folks on both sides of this issue and being bombarded by opinions and barbs thrown by each of the "offended" parties, I wholeheartedly welcome an end to the hostilities. Hey.....if all armed conflicts ended with such a whimper, no one would ever be hurt.........right?

At the end, regardless of who pays whom what amount - the winners will be all Shelby automobiles and their owners/guardians. We can go back to car shows, track days, and other fun events without worrying about who is with whom and who might be seen talking with whom, and.......you all get the picture.

Enough said. Buried up here in the great Northwest, I'm sure I will get to a major event with Ms. Shelby soon enough.
Thanks for listening to my rant.
