Cool Modsports Racing AC Cobra in the HMSA Historic Modsports and Saloon Association

Hi Forum
A big Hello to you all.
I race a beautiful Historic Modsports AC Cobra in the UK and I love every nut and bolt on this car, especially as I have owned the car for over 30 years.
The last 28 years the car has sat in my Barn gathering dust and I hadnt a clue where to race this AC Cobra as it was quite radical when it raced many years ago.It has very lightweight panels over a space frame chassis and huge race tyres. The high reving all alloy engine chucks out a healthy 600bhp and starts on the button with 24v starting,so not a lot needs doing to that component.
It was always hard to find a race series to cater for this type of radical car in the 1980s as the Modsports series where made obsolete. If I was to be accepted in the present Historic race car events I would need to detune the car and take the car back to a more standard look and I thought blow that, why go backwards.
Problem cured some of the lads with AC Cobras,Ford GT40s, Ford Mustangs and Corvettes have joined a new Association called the HMSA Historic Modsports and Saloon Association www.historicmodsportsandsaloons.com and they are gathering all these race cars and many others back together to eventually race when they HMSA gets larger.
Could be a great place to meet as they love the Shelbys and one of the organisers even runs a 1955 Ford Thunderbird, sigle light, porthole type, nice standard car though.
I will scan some photos of this AC to you next time, once I have polished the alloy.

Welcome to the site. Would love to see photos of your car. No need to polish it just show it as it is.
