Subscribing to a Thread or Forum - Email Notification

One of the best features of these forums is the ability to subscribe to an entire forum or an individual thread. When a post is submitted to the forum/thread you have subscribed to you will be notified via email! When you post a thread, there is a "Thread Subscription" drop box that allows you to subscribe to that thread. If you select "Instant email notification", every time a reply is submitted you will be notified via email. You may also choose daily or weekly notification.

Subscription is great if you have hard to find information that may take weeks/months for a reply to get posted. You do not need to keep checking the boards to see if a reply has been posted because an email notification will be sent to you. If you subscribed with "Instant email notification", you will be notified via email as soon as the thread has been responded to. If you want to subscribe to a thread you did not start, simpily select the "Thread Tools" link above the thread and choose the subscribe option. Subscribing to a forum is different than subscribing to an individual thread. A forum includes many threads. You can subscribe to a forum by clicking the "Forum Tools" link on the upper part of the forum page.

Example #1: You may be interested in all the threads that get posted about an event thread.

Example #2: There may be parts specialists subscribing to the parts forum and they will be notified every time you submit a request for parts. This means that you should hopefully recieve a quick response!

Subscribing can be quite convenient but Beware! These notifications can become a real pain if the thread is fairly active! You can manage all the forums/threads you are subscribed to by going to your User Control Panel (user cp). To get to your User Control Panel, select the button at the top of the page that says "user cp". Or click here ! You can also set the forum to use email notification by default when you post a thread. This is done in your options page. Go to you User Control Panel and then select "Edit Options" and look for the Instant Email Notification feature there. You can turn it off or on.

Thanks for subscribing!
