Hello all Shelby owners -

First - Happy Holidays and Happy New Year.

I am new to this website, but an avid auto entusiast. In WI and IL, many of us have shared information and created a little email list for meeting and then cruising down together to a car show or other related event. We are always looking to add to the list so and it would be awesome to add a number of Shelby's to our cruises. If you are intersted, please send me a PM with your email address. Last year, we all met and cruised down to the Gurnee, IL car show. I look forward to seeing everyone at the next get together cruise in 2007 (Dates to be sent shortly). I have listed the guys who joined last year. It would be great to get 100 cars or more following down the freeway to an event in IL or WI. Plus, as I mentioned, it would be great to add the new Shelby members cars to join our rides.

2007 dates are as follows:

Dates:
(1) Friday - June 15, 2007 - Meet & Greet Cruise the Gurnee Car Show
This first event will be a meet and greet for group introductions and to get to know everyone. For the members that will join the cruise from WI to IL, we will meet at the Milwaukee County Park & Ride Lot - http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/travel/.../d2/pr4030.htm (Lot 40 - 30) in-between 6:15 PM and 6: 45 PM. We will then leave the park and ride lot and go to the Gurnee Car Show at promptly 6:45 PM, following each other in a line down the freeway. For those individuals that will be meeting us from the Chicago and Northern IL suburbs, I will provide a meeting spot in a subsequent email in Gurnee so we can all pull in together, somewhere in around 7: 30 PM. After the show, if the group wants we can cruise somewhere together and get something eat.
As I mentioned above, I will send out a subsequent email message to everyone as we approach this date with more logistical information. Within this email, I will also create a spreadsheet with everyone who is joining the cruise. Given that timing is important for this event, it will be critical that you inform us if you attending and where you will be meeting (Either at the park & ride in Milwaukee, or at a TBD spot in Gurnee). Obviously, the weather on the Friday, June 15, 2007 has to be nice, but everyone please save this date. Please feel free to invite your friends that have neat cars to join as well.

(2) August 2007 - Generac Power Weekend - Road America Champ Car Race
Depending on what the group wants to do, we will either attend the Generac 500 / American Le Mans series race Saturday or the Generac Champ Car Grand Prix Sunday. The meeting spot will be the Milwaukee County Park & Ride Lot - http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/travel/.../d2/pr4030.htm (Lot 40 - 30) again, and will follow each other to Road America and all park together. For those individauls that live closer to the track , we will determine a spot a location that we will meet you at near the track so we can all pull in and park together.

(3) September 2007
- Fall Cruise 2007 - Date TBD (Open to suggestions on where to go)

I have split the Cruise / Show Dates into two sections below. I hope to see everyone at the first car show (May 12, 2007) and then the first cruise (June 15, 2007).

2007 Cruise Dates:
(1) Friday - June 15, 2007 - Meet & Greet Cruise the Gurnee Car Show
This first cruise will be a meet and greet for group introductions and to get to know everyone. For the members that will join the cruise from WI to IL, we will meet at the Milwaukee County Park & Ride Lot - http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/travel...e/d2/pr4030.htm (Lot 40 - 30) in-between 6:15 PM and 6: 45 PM. We will then leave the park and ride lot and go to the Gurnee Car Show at promptly 6:45 PM, following each other in a line down the freeway. For those individuals that will be meeting us from the Chicago and do not want to join the parade down from Wisconsin, we will meet off of Rte. 132. Basically, take rte. 132 off I-94 to the 2nd stop light which is Gurnee Mills Circle West. Turn right and go North thru the stoplight and the next stop sign about 1/4 mile total to the parking area on the right ( You will see the Gurnee Mills movie theatre to the right). Z06 Bob will be in this parking lot so you will see him/his beautiful black LG Z there as well. The plan is to be at this location by 7:20 PM - 7:30 PM. After the show, if the group wants we can cruise somewhere together and get something eat.

On other point is that thanks to Larry, for those southern WI and Northern IL individuals that would like to join the cruise from WI, but do not want to drive up to Milwaukee at the starting point (College Avenue Park & Ride), we could add one other meeting spot in Kenosha. If you are interested in this, I need to know so we know how many people want to meet in this Kenosha, WI location. I will send the address after we gauge interest. This way, more people can participate in the cruise to the Gurnee, IL car show.

2007 Car Show Dates
(1) Saturday, May 12, 2007 - Project Two Customs Car Show - 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
Many of you sent me a email wanting to have a get together in May 2007. Thus, the date of the Project Two Customs (Project Two Customs - Davin Wheels, Custom Car Audio and video, AIR RIDE TECHNOLOGIES, Fiberglass fabrication, Hot Rods, Award winning vehicles) Car Show is scheduled on May 12, 2007. The show will begin at 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Please mark this date in your calendar. I will need to get a headcount of how many people are coming. Obviously the weather has to be good, and I will send an email out to everyone as we approach this date. All makes/models/years welcome to join. We will all meet at Project Two Customs (Address in the link).

I hope that everyone had a nice weekend.

As you know, the first event of the year is scheduled on May 12, 2007 - Project Two Customs Car Show and Open House. I wanted to provide everyone with logistical information as well an update as to who is planning on attending given that the weather is good. I will be sending our another email regarding this event on Thursday, May 10, 2007. At this time, we will better understand what the weather is going to be for May 12, 2007. Please be sure to check your email during this week.

(1) Logistical information: We will be meeting in between 3:15PM and 3:30 PM at the Waukesha County park and ride lot 67-05 - http://www.dot.state.wi.us/travel/pa.../d2/pr6705.htm. At 3:30 PM, we will depart from the park & ride lot and follow each other to Project Two Customs (which is about a ten minute ride from the Park & Ride Lot). Please note that I am trying to get all of us to pull into the show together. Parking will not be an issue as Project Two Customs has taken out a permit to close down the street.

(2) I have listed those that indicated they are attending the show below. Right now, we have 70 people (Not including the friends of individuals below who will be coming with their cars, but I do not have their email address). If you plan on attending the event, please let me know by responding to this email if your name is not listed below. The reason behind this is that I will create a check list of everyone who is attending so we know who is coming and do not leave anyone behind at the park & ride lot. Thus, if I do not know you are coming, I obviously can not wait for you at the park and ride.

I hope that more of you decide to participate. It is going to be a fun event. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I would like to get 100 cars meeting at the park & ride lot to participate. Hopefully, with more participation, we can get there in a few weeks.

Details that I sent out via email:
The last cruise for 2007 is scheduled on Oct 6, 2007. It will be a cruise in a scenic area (Kettle Moraine) and then a get together and open house at Zinovi Motor Cars. Catering at Zinovi Motor Cars will be from Dicarlo Catering and will include Rosemary Chicken Skewers, Calamari Skewers, Brouschetta, and Pizza (Soda provided as well). The cost to eat is $10 dollars per person. The open house will take place in Zinovi's customized VIP showroom. If you have never been to Zinovi Motor Cars, you will not want to miss it.

Logistics:
We will be meeting at Brookfield Square, in front of the Toy's R Us in between 2:30 PM - 3:00 PM. We will depart at 3:00 PM from the parking lot and head on the scenic cruise. We will arrive at Zinovi Motor Cars at approximately 5:45 PM for the Car Show and Open house. I will hand out a detailed map and driving directions in hard copy on Oct 6, 2007.

I am taking roll call for the Oct 6, 2007 event at this time. Please let me know if you will be attending. Of course the weather has to cooperate, so we will be watching closely.
