Something to consider is that the supercharger installation kit was in the trunk of the car as it left Shelby for most SC ordered cars and the dealer would complete the installation before delivery. A lot of Paxton units remained unsold and undelivered to Shelby to the disgust of Paxton who anticipated a huge amount to be sold on ordered cars in 66 and 67. That is how the stories were told twenty or so years ago when Paxton sold off a big chunk of old inventory. Most people opted for the bigblock in 67. I would bet a Nickel against a Dollar that Shelby had sold Paxton on the idea with them warehousing the units and Shelby only getting inventory when he needed it . That is my spin .
