I'm in the 1% then. In 1991 I was sitting on the couch drinking a beer when a friend of mine called to tell me about a car. I had painted a few Shelbys for him. He knew I wanted one and never thought I would be able to aford it. He was a dealer at the time and the car was to much and need to much work for him to mess with. It was a good deal. A 67 GT 350 for $9,000. He even loaned me his truck and trailer to go and get it. After he said I could use his rig to get it home, he asked if I had ever pulled a trailer before. When I said no. His responce was to take wide turns and don't put it in reverse. Texas to South Carolina and back was a long trip not to use reverse.
So yes some times sitting on the couch drinking beer will get you a good deal on a car.
