A friendwho is an original owner and still owns his 68 500, has a set of exhaust tips that were ordered through parts( I dont know when). They were in the original box and when opened were the correct pipe with in a pipe for 68 500s but the part of the pipe under the valance to exhaust or 1/3 of the tip is painted a high temp flat black over the chrome. I have never seen this before, perhaps a different supplier?
Or when ordered through Ford were they sending out anything that was close as Shelbys contract with Ford had been cancelled and they were trying to fill orders in the early seventys?
